Various records of the 4th Massachusetts Regiment while under the command of Col. William Shepard. Includes volume of weekly returns, courts-martial rosters, and enlistment registers (1781 January-1783 February); two quartermaster receipt books (1779 August-1782 March, 1780 August- 1782 October); muster roll and weekly returns (1781 November-1782 December) for Seth Bannister's 2nd Company; and muster roll and monthly returns (1781 November-1783 March) for Caleb Clap's 8th Company. The records emanate from various camps in New York State.
